A little update again!

Just wanted to write a quick update here too. From my social media sites some of you have already seen that the baby finally arrived two weeks after the due date. They actually had to induce the labor and in the end the situation got a little crazy. They literally pulled him out in less than 10 mins cos the machines were giving them a lot of warnings and it was either that or an emergency c-section. But in the end all was well and baby was unharmed and healthy little boy. Cos of all that it's taking me somewhat longer than I expected to recover but I'm getting there.

Baby boy is now three weeks old and along with his two big sisters he is keeping me pretty busy. Today I was actually able to paint my nails for the second time after giving birth :D I've only been wearing Essie Fill the Gap on my nails for three weeks now. I'm really trying to get back to some kind of normal day rhythm and have some time to blog again too.

I'm really nail polish deprived right now and I'm dying to get back to business :D





Pikaista päivitystä taas tännekin. Eli kuten monet ovat jo varmaan somesta nähneetkin niin onnistuin vihdoin jakautumaan kaksi viikkoa lasketun ajan jälkeen. Synnytys jouduttiin lopulta käynnistämään ja lopulta meni aika hulinaksi, kun sydänäänet heikkenivät ja koneet antoivat varoituksia. Poitsu kirjaimellisesti kiskottiin ulos lääkärin, neljän kätilön ja imukupin avustuksella minuuteissa. Lopulta kaikki oli kuitenkin ihan hyvin. Pieni mies saatiin ulos terveenä ja vahingoittumattomana. Raju synnytys kuitenkin aiheutti itselleni odotettua pidemmän toipumisajan, mutta nyt alkaa taas olla lähes normaali olo.

Herra on nyt siis kolme viikkoa vanha ja sisarustensa kanssa pitää minut melko kiireisenä. Tänään onnistuin jopa lakkaamaan kynteni toisen kerran sitten synnytyksen. Muuten kynsillä on ollut ainoastaan pari kerrosta Essie Fill the Gapia. Yritän tässä nyt päästä uuteen elämänrytmiin kiinni ja löytää taas aikaa blogillekin. Tämä on kuitenkin sellainen mun oma juttu josta haluan pitää kiinni :)

Alkaa kyllä olla aika kynsilakkapuutos jo ja toivottavasti pääsen taas pian takaisin kynsipöytäni ja blogin ääreen!

Dollish Polish Got Snow Cones? and Murky Dismal

It's about time I show you some of the swatch photos I took during the summer and never posted here on my blog. So let's start it off with two Dollish Polish pretties. On these photos I still have some gel left on my nails and they are longer than my nails are at the moment.







Got Snow Cones?(Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu! base coat, two coats of Got Snow Cones? and two coats of HK Girl top coat).

Application is easy when you use a very light hand to prevent the glitter pieces from dragging bald spots on the white base. It also helps to let the first coat dry well before applying the second one. I placed some of the glitters to get a more even looking result. This is such a cute and fresh looking polish!


Tämän levittämisessä kannattaa käyttää kevyttä kättä, jotta et vedä siveltimellä kaljuja kohtia valkoiseen pohjaan. Anna ensimmäisen kerroksen kuivua reilusti ennen toisen kerroksen levittämistä. Jos kynnelle jää glitterittömiä kohtia voit pyyhkäistä lakkaa ja glitteriä siveltimestä esim. talouspaperin päälle. Lakka imeytyy talouspaperiin ja voit poimia glitterit vaikkapa dotting toolilla tai hammastikulla ja asetella haluamaasi kohtaan kynnelle.

This has a very good formula and application is really easy. I used three thin coats to achieve a good sandwich effect.


Tässä lakassa on erinomainen koostumus ja se on helppo levittää ohuesti. Kolme ohutta kerrosta takaa kunnon sandwich efektin.

CND Vinylux swatches

Today I have more older swatch photos to show you. Again these were taken during summer when my nails still had some gel layover left on them. So the nail shape is a little weird and you can see the gel growth line on some of the photos.

Now all the gel is grown out so that won't be a problem anymore on the newer photos. Though now my problem is that my nails are nubbins. I'm never totally happy :P

So today I have some random CND Vinylux swatches for you.

All of the swatch photos are taken without a base coat and using Vinylux Weekly top coat. All the polishes applied well and were opaque in 2-3 coats,



Nyt vuorossa lisää jo kesällä otettuja swatcheja. Tällä kertaa näytillä muutama CND Vinylux lakka. Näissä kuvissa kynsillä on edelleen geelausta jäljellä ja joissakin kuvissa näkyy lakan läpi myös geelin kasvurajaa. Onneksi tätä ongelmaa ei enää tällä hetkellä ole, mutta nyt harmittaa se että kynnet ovat lyhyet :P

Some Mavala Techni-Color's collection swatches

This summer I got an opportunity to try some Mavala polishes. It's been forever since I had a bottle of Mavala polish and I have to say my experiences with them have been more or less average. So I wanted to test this summer collection just of curiosity and I was so pleasantly surprised! The polishes had a good, highly pigmented formula. Application was smooth and easy and drying didn't take forever. Some of these were almost one coaters. I also LOVED the colors! Not amazingly unique but bright and vibrant colors that go well with any time of the year.

Some of these are also so pigmented that they work for stamping. I haven't tried stamping with them but I've seen it done by other bloggers.

This was a summer collection but at least where I live I've still seen it been sold a few days ago. So if you never paid attention to these I suggest you check them out while you can.

Today I have swatches of three colors out of the six on this collection. Again these photos were taken during summer when I still had gel on my nails. I think that this is it though and next photos are gonna be all natural nubbins swatches ;)



Kesällä sain tilaisuuden kokeilla Mavalan Techni-Color's kesäkokelman lakkoja. Halusin testata niitä jo ihan silkasta uteliaisuudesta. Viimeisestä Mavala kokeilustani oli jo todella pitkä aika ja käsitykseni merkistä ja sen lakoista oli enemmän ja vähemmän keskinkertainen. Aiemman mielikuvani perusteella en siis odottanut kovinkaan paljoa tämän kokoelman lakoilta ja kylläpä yllätyin positiivisesti, kun lakat saapuivat! Värit olivat ihanan kirkkaita! Lakkojen koostumus oli hyvä ja niissä oli runsaasti pigmenttiä. Levitys oli todella helppoa ja osa lakoista peitti jo yhdellä kerroksella. Kuivumisaikakaan ei ollut tolkuttoman pitkä. Ihastuin näihin siis ihan tosissaan!

Osa näistä lakoista sopii myös leimaamiseen. Itse en ole kokeillut näillä leimata, mutta olen nähnyt muiden bloggaajien niin tekevän onnistuneesti.

Tämä oli siis kesän 2014 kokoelma, mutta ainakin Porissa sitä on ollut myynnissä vielä eri kaupoissa (mm. Emotion ja Citymarket) muutama päivä sitten. Eli jos et ole tähän kokoelmaan vielä tutustunut niin kannattaa käydä tutkimassa lakkoja ennen kuin ne katoavat myynnistä.

Tänään näytillä swatchkuvat kolmesta tämän kokoelman lakasta. Nämäkin kuvat on siis taas kuvattu kynsillä joissa oli vielä geeliä jäljellä. Seuraavaksi taitaakin sitten olla tulossa geelittömiä nysäkynsi swatcheja ;)





102 Cyber Yellow -Two coats with Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat and HK Girl top coat 


Bright yellow with green-ish shimmer and glow. Amazing application for a yellow polish. This one has a tiny bit of visible brush strokes in it but it's really not too noticeable in real life.

Todella kirkas keltainen vaaleanvihreällä shimmerillä ja hehkulla. Todella hyvä levittää keltaiseksi kynsilakaksi. Tähän lakkaan jää hieman siveltimenjälkiä näkyviin, mutta ei ollenkaan häiritsevästi.






106 Orange Fusion - Two coats with Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat and HK Girl top coat 


Really fierce orange shade that looks like it's on fire. Amazing application and this is a one coater even if I applied two. Yes, this came out in a summer collection but how perfect is this color for fall too!

Todella näyttävä oranssi lakka joka hehkuu kuin se olisi tulessa. Todella hyvä levittää ja pigmenttiä on niin paljon, että yksi kerros riittää peittämään. Tämä siis ilmestyi kesäkokoelmassa, mutta katsokaa nyt kuinka täydellinen sävy tämä on myös syksyyn!





103 Cobalt Blue - Two coats with Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat and HK Girl top coat 


Very vibrant blue creme that is a borderline crelly if you ask me. Very glossy and bright! Again, amazing application and very well pigmented formula. This instantly became my favorite blue and I think I need to get a backup bottle while I can still find one. Love, love, love it!!

Kirkas sininen creme joka on mielestäni jopa enemmän crelly kuin creme. Todella kiiltävä ja mehukas lakka. Tässäkin oli erittäin hyvin levittyvä ja peittävä koostumus. Cobalt Bluesta tulikin heti suosikki siniseni ja pitää ehkä käydä ostamassa toinen pullo varastoon niin kauan kuin näitä vielä saa. Upea!!

Sally Hansen Nail Rehab nail treatment

Since I grew out the gel nails I needed to start looking for good base coats and treatments for my natural nails. I also got an opportunity to test Sally Hansen Nail Rehab treatment. Usually nail strengtheners are not good for me and instead of making my nails stronger they make them break and peel.

Nail Rehab bottle does have the word "Strengthener" on it but I still decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Usually if something doesn't work for my nails they start peeling and looking dry very fast. That happened with Duri Rejuvacote just after the third time I used it. I have now used over half a bottle of Nail Rehab and there is no peeling or any other problems at all.

To make sure it was a good product for me I only used Nail Rehab on my manicures for almost two months. On top of it I apply a coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat before the polish and top coat. Between manicures I use Bliss Kiss nail oil to hydrate my nails before applying the treatment again. I only keep my nails without polish on them for an hour max at the moment since I have to wash my hands all the time cos of the new baby.

Nail Rehab has a thick-ish formula and it also smooths out your nails like a ridge filler. On the photo below I still have a gel layover on part of my nails and two coats of Nail Rehab hides the growth line almost perfectly. The color is also just lovely natural looking peachy shade. It hides possible stains on your nails when you apply two coats of it. If you have a busy day you can just apply two coats of Nail Rehab and have perfect looking nude nails.

While using Nail Rehab my manicures have stayed good at least for 2 to 3 days without chipping. I could probably go for a few days longer but I get tired of looking at the same polish ;)

So all in all this treatment works perfectly for my nails. Doesn't make them peel or dry. Makes a good base for a manicure and doesn't cause the polish to chip faster than usual. I can't say if this makes my nails stronger but it doesn't cause peeling or drying for my nails like so many other base coats and treatments do and that's enough for me.

Only thing I'd change about this is the brush. The bristles are really short and stiff. It took some time to get used to it but after a while I didn't have issues with the application and the brush anymore.

If you're looking for an affordable treatment for your nails I recommend you give this one a try too. Works great for me!








Kun aloin kasvattamaan geelikynsiä pois tuli ajankohtaiseksi myös hyvien hoito- ja aluslakkojen etsiminen, jotta omat kynteni pysyisivät kunnossa. Sain tilaisuuden testata myös Sally Hansen Nail Rehab hoitolakkaa. Yleensä kynnenkovettajat eivät toimi minulla ja aiheuttavat enemmänkin kynsien kuivumista ja liuskottumista.

Nail Rehab pullostakin tuo "Strengthener" sana löytyy, mutta päätin silti antaa tuotteelle mahdollisuuden ja hyvä niin. Kynteni reagoivat yleensä sopimattomaan tuotteeseen melko nopeasti. Esimerkiksi Duri Rejuvacote aiheutti liuskottumista jo kolmannella peräkkäisellä käyttökerralla. Olen nyt käyttänyt yli puoli pulloa Nail Rehabia ilman mitään ongelmia.

Halusin testata hoitolakkaa perusteellisesti, joten käytin ainoastaan sitä lähes kaksi kuukautta. Nail Rehabin lisäksi levitän kynnelle kerroksen Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! aluslakkaa ennen värilakkaa ja pikakuivattajaa. Manikyyrien välissä kosteutan kynttä Bliss Kiss kynsiöljyllä. Tällä hetkellä en pidä kynsiä ilman lakkaa kuin maksimissaan tunnin koska joudun pesemään käsiäni jatkuvasti. Eli minulla on kynsilläni lähes aina vähintään hoitolakka.

Nail Rehab on koostumukseltaan paksuhkoa ja hoitaa samalla ridge fillerin tehtävän. Yllä näkyvässä kuvassa kynsissäni on jäljellä vielä geelausta, mutta kaksi kerrosta Nail Rehabia häivyttää rajan lähes täydellisesti. Lakka on sävyltään kauniin persikkainen ja luonnollisen näköinen. Kaksi kerrosta peittää hyvin myös mahdolliset värjäytymät kynsillä. Kiireisenä päivänä saat siis tällä hoitolakalla kauniin huolitellut kynnet ihan yksinään käytettynäkin.

En ole myöskään huomannut, että Nail Rehab heikentäsi tai lyhentäisi manikyyrin kestävyyttä. Lakkaus pysyy hyvänä 2-3 päivää eikä lohkeile. Varmasti samaa lakkausta voisi pitää vieläkin pidemmän ajan ilman sen suurempia ongelmia, mutta itse kyllästyn niin nopeasti etten tuon kauempaa viitsi samaa lakkaa katsella ;)

Eli tämä hoitolakka toimii siis minun kynsilläni erittäin hyvin. Kertaakaan eivät kynteni ole liuskottuneet tai näyttäneet kuivilta tämän hoitolakan kanssa. En osaa sanoa parantaako tämä kynsieni kuntoa mitenkään. Se ei kuitenkaan aiheuta liuskottumista eikä kuivumista kuten niin monet muut hoito- ja aluslakat kynsilleni tekevät ja se riittää minulle.

Ainoa asia mitä tästä tuotteesta muuttaisin on sivellin. Se on kummallisen kova ja pieni. Ottikin oman aikansa tottua siveltimeen, mutta vaikka se ei olekkaan paras mahdollinen niin en silti jättäisi hyvää tuotetta käyttämättä ainoastaan sen vuoksi.

Jos sinulla on siis hakusessa hyvä ja helposti saatavilla oleva hoitolakka niin suosittelen kyllä kokeilemaan tätä. Itselläni tämä onkin jäänyt pysyvään käyttöön.

Jindie Nails - You Can't Turn a Ho-lo into a Housewife

Well I thought I had already shown you all the swatch photos that I still had gel on my nails in. Turns out I was wrong. Yesterday I found these photos. I took them last summer, moved them from the camera to my computer, put them in the wrong folder and forgot about them.

But now they have been found so here you go, Jindie Nails - You Can't Turn a Ho-lo into a Housewife. A polish that has one of the most awesome names ever :D

"A gorgeous multi-chrome and linear holographic polish. The colors in this one include red to blue and all shades in between".

Formula was perfect and I had no issues with the application. This was opaque in two coats and dried fast. I did a full manicure with this polish and I remember it didn't chip but I have no clue how long I kept it on my nails. It was at least for two days, that I know.

For this manicure I used Sally Hansen Nail Rehab as a base coat, two coats of You Can't Turn a Ho-lo into a Housewife and HK Girl top coat.

Luulin jo näyttäneeni teille kaikki loput swatchkuvat joissa kynsissäni oli vielä geelausta jäljellä, mutta väärässä olin. Otin nämä kuvat heinäkuussa. Siirsin ne kamerasta tietokoneelle väärään kansioon ja unohdin ne sinne. Sieltä kansiostaan ne sitten eilen tulivat vastaan ja pääsevät nyt vihdoin tänne blogiinkin asti.

Eli tämä on Jindie Nails - You Can't Turn a Ho-lo into a Housewife. Mä sitten rakastan näitä indielakkojen nimiä :D

Tässä oli erinomainen koostumus ja levittämisen kanssa ei ollut mitään ongelmia. Kaksi kerrosta riitti peittämään ja kuivumisaika ei ollut pitkä. Ei nyt pysty muistamaan kuinka monta päivää pidin tätä lakkausta, mutta ainakin sen kaksi päivää ja sillä aikaa ei lakka lohkeillut.

piCture pOlish - O'Hara

So here are the first "official" swatch photos that I took on all natural nails (these photos still show the swollen pregnancy fingers that are also now back to normal). There are some iPhone shots that can be seen on my IG that were taken before these.

And can I just say YAY! It was a looooong road to get here but I didn't give in and apply the gel back on my nails. We'll see what the winter and freezing weather brings with it though :P Either way I don't see the super long nails coming back soon since it's a nice change to have shorter nails now.

Then let's move on the beauty that is piCture pOlish O'Hara, stunning red crelly with a scattered holo effect. Such a gorgeous polish! Unfortunately I don't have photos taken in direct sunlight but trust me, the holo goodness is there.

The formula on this was perfect! Easy and smooth application with a quick dry time. I really appreciate great quality polishes like this one right now cos the time I have to do my nails is so limited at the moment.

For this manicure I used a coat of Sally Hansen Nail Rehab, a coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat, two coats of O'Hara and HK Girl top coat.







No niin, vihdoin päästään näihin kuviin joissa kaikki geeli on kasvatettu pois kynsiltä (tosin näissä kuvissa näkyvät vielä turvonneet raskausnakit :P). Olipa taas pitkä tie päästä tähän pisteeseen, mutta enpähän antanut periksi ja geelannut kynsiä uudelleen. Saa tosin nähdä mitä kuiva ja kylmä talvisää tuo tullessaan. Superpitkiin kynsiin tuskin palaan lähiaikoina koska nämä lyhyet ovat nyt kivaa vaihtelua.

Sitten tähän upeaan ja näyttävään lakkaan joka on piCture pOlish O'Hara. Kirkas punainen crelly scattered holo efektillä. Tämä on aivan upea! Valitettavasti en huomannut kuvata tätä kunnolla suorassa auringonvalossa, mutta kyllä se holo-upeus siellä on, uskokaa pois! 

Koostumus on tässä minun mieleeni ihan täydellinen. Helposti ja tasaisesti levittyvä sekä nopeasti kuivuva. Tällä hetkellä arvostan todella tämän kaltaisia laatulakkoja koska aika jonka voin käyttää kynsieni lakkaamiseen on tällä hetkellä todella rajallinen. 

Tähän lakkaukseen käytin kerroksen Sally Hansen Nail Rehabia, kerroksen Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! aluslakkaa, kaksi kerrosta O'Haraa sekä HK Girl pikakuivattaja.

Jindie Nails - Higher Flower

Happy Saturday lovelies! Here's a quick blog post before I head out to my niece's and nephew's birthday party.

This is Jindie Nails Higher Flower from the Recover Me collection. The description on Jindie Nails website says it all:

"The most beautiful and highly pigmented neon pink polish, loaded with micro flakes and holographic micro glitters in purple and silver. The flakie colors are bronze, silver, purple, pink and blue.  The silver flakies are bits of real silver.  It's divine and opaque in 1-2 coats."

This polish is amazing! Such a vibrant neon pink and unlike your average neon this doesn't require multiple coats to be opaque.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a one coater on shorter nails!!

Perfect, flawless application and quick dry time. I wore this as a full manicure for three days and no chipping or issues at all. Easy enough to remove and didn't cause any staining.  For my full manicure I only applied one coat. On these swatch photos there is two coats of polish cos I wanted to see if the second coat would make the color even more vibrant. It added a little depth but I have to say this was already perfect on the first coat.

For this manicure I used a coat of Essie Fill the Gap, a coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat, two coats of Higher Flower and HK Girl top coat.

Ihanaa lauantaita kaikille! Nyt pikainen herkkupinkki postaus pilvisen päivän piristykseksi ennen kuin suuntaan kohti siskontyttären ja -pojan syntymäpäiväjuhlia.

Tämä on Jindie Nails Higher Flower Recover Me kokoelmasta. Näyttävä neon pinkki lakka jota Jindie Nailsin omilla sivuilla kuvaillaan näin:

Higher Flower on laadultaan aivan loistava. Levittyy hyvin ja kuivuu nopeasti. Tämä myös peittää yhdellä kerroksella toisin kuin neonsävyt yleensä. Lakka on siis todella pigmenttinen. Poistaminen oli helpohkoa eikä tämä pigmenttisyydestään huolimatta värjännyt kynsiäni. Lakkasin tällä kaikki kynnet ja kolmen päivän aikana ei lakkaus lohkeillut eikä ollut muitakaan ongelmia. Koko manikyyrissä käytin vain yhden kerroksen lakkaa. Näitä swatchkuvia varten lakkasin kaksi kerrosta koska halusin nähdä toisiko toinen kerros lakkaan vielä lisää näyttävyyttä. Kyllä täytyy sanoa, että tämä on yhdelläkin kerroksella jo todella täydellinen ja toinen kerros lisäsi ainoastaan hiukan syvyyttä.

Dollish Polish - Walker Bait with a hint of nail art

Lately I've been so busy again that it's hard to find time to write blog posts. I can do my nails and take the photos but I don't seem to have enough time to just sit down and write these posts. So I've been thinking that instead of trying to write as much as I usually do I'll keep it short and simple for a bit. That way I'll at least get the reviews and posts up for you guys and who has time to read all this anyways LOL It's more important to show the photos and tell you the basic things about the polish :)

This manicure is a bit of a tease cos the polish was limited edition and isn't available anymore. This is Dollish Polish Walker Bait. I still want to show you this manicure cos Walker Bait is just stunning and you might want to keep your eyes open for it in case it makes another comeback in the future.

Walker Bait applies really well, is opaque on two coats and it dries fast. Removal was easy and there was no staining on my nails after this. It also didn't chip during the two days I wore it. I wanted to wear it longer but I was peeling an apple and peeled a part of my ring finger nail off too so I had to remove the polish earlier than I was planning.

For this manicure I used a coat of Essie Fill the Gap, a coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat, two coats of Walker Bait and HK Girl top coat. Ring finger nail art is done with a fine brush using Mavala 106 Orange Fusion and OPI Liquid Sand Jinx. Studs are from Born Pretty Store.

Photos don't do justice to this stunning polish. Looking at the bottle on these photos gives a better idea of how this looks on nails when light hits it in different angles. So beautiful!








Viime aikoina on taas yllättäen pitänyt sen verran kiirettä, että en ole ehtinyt keskittymään blogipostausten kirjoittamiseen. Tämä homma kun vaatisi sen pienen rauhallisen hetken, jotta voisi istua alas ja kasata ajatuksensa. Tässä taloudessa ne hetket ovat melko harvassa, joten nyt lähiaikoina yritän kirjoittaa nämä postaukset tarinoimatta mitään ylimääräistä. Kuvat ja pieni kuvaus lakan laadusta ja levittyvyydestä ym. saa nyt riittää hetken aikaa. Haluan kuitenkin saada postattua näitä juttuja, kun koristelujakin on tullut viime aikoina tehtyä jne :)

Tämä lakkaus on kyllä vähän härnäystä koska tämä lakka oli limited edition eikä ole enää saatavilla. Halusin kuitenkin näyttää tämän teille koska tämä lakka on tyrmäävän upea ja eihän sitä koskaan tiedä jos tämä vaikka tekee joskus vielä toisenkin comebackin.

Kyseessä on siis Dollish PolishWalker Bait. Levittyvyys oli erinomainen, peitti kahdella kerroksella ja kuivui nopeasti. Poistaminen oli helppoa eikä tämä värjännyt kynsiä. Mitään lohkeamisia ei niiden kahden päivän aikana tapahtunut jonka tämä oli kynsilläni. Olisin pitänyt tätä kauemminkin, mutta näppärä kun olen niin vetäisin taas nimettömän kynnestä palan pois kuorimaveitsellä ja niin meni manikyyrikin vaihtoon.

Tähän lakkaukseen käytin kerroksen Essie Fill the Gap hoitolakkaa, kerroksen Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! aluslakkaa, kaksi kerrosta Walker Baitia ja lopuksi HK Girl pikakuivattaja. Nimettömän kynnen koristelu tehty ohuella siveltimellä ja Mavala 106 Orange Fusion sekä OPI Liquid Sand Jinx lakoilla. Niitit ovat Born Pretty Storesta.

Kuvat eivät kyllä ihan tee oikeutta tälle lakalle ja pulloa katsomalla saakin paremman kuvan siitä mikä kirjo värejä hohtaa kynsillä eri valaistuksissa.

Born Pretty Store review - Gold and silver nail art rings

Today I have some nail art for you using silver rings and rhinestones from Born Pretty Store.


Tein pitkästä aikaa Born Pretty Store tuotearvostelun ja tällä kertaa olin valinnut testiin hopeanvärisiä metallirenkaita. Lisäsin vielä manikyyriin saman kaupankoristekiviä.






These rings come in a wheel of gold and silver colored metal rings. They can be used for nail art on natural nails or with gel/acrylic nails. These are not too big so they are easy to place on the nails. I chose to put a rhinestone inside of the rings and also placed some rhinestones around them. 

I actually expected these to be solid rings but as you can see on the photo above, the ends overlap each other a little. I thought this might be a problem and cause them to get stuck on clothes and hair etc. but it really wasn't an issue at all. I pressed the ring on to wet nail polish, placed the rhinestones and few glitter pieces and sealed everything with a generous coat of HK Girl top coat. I wore this manicure for two days. The rings didn't get caught on anything during that time and both the rings and rhinestones stayed on perfectly until I removed the manicure.



Nämä renkaat on pakattu koristekivien tapaan hyrrään. Itse valitsin hyrrän jossa on sekä kullan, että hopean värisiä renkaita. Saatavilla on myös pelkästään yhtä väriä sisältäviä hyrriä. Näitä voit käyttää omien luonnonkynsien koristelussa sekä geeli- ja akryylikynsissä. Kooltaan nämä ovat juuri sopivia ja asettuvat kynnelle nätisti.

Itseasiassa oletin näiden olevan kiinteitä renkaita, mutta kuten kuvasta näkyy päät menevät hiukan päällekkäin. Ensin ajattelin tuon päällekkäisyyden hankaloittavan näiden käyttöä huomattavasti saaden renkaat tarttumaan hiuksiin ja vaatteisiin. Se ei kuitenkaan aiheuttanut mitään ongelmaa ja niiden kahden päivän aikana kun pidin tätä manikyyriä renkaat eivät tarttuneet kiinni mihinkään. Kiinnitin renkaat painamalla ne märän kynsilakan pintaan ja levittämällä päälle reilun kerroksen päällyslakkaa. Kahden päivän jälkeen kaikki renkaat ja koristekivet olivat edelleen tiukasti kiinni.







For this manicure I used:

Mavala 315 Amethyst from the Fall 2014 Sublime collection. I used two coats for index and pinky nails. For middle finger and thumb nails I used a coat of Amethyst and a coat of Lynnderella Jelly Egg. Everything is topped with HK Girl top coat.

For the ring finger I first applied two coats of Essie Fill the Gap. Next I applied a generous coat of OPI In True Stefani Fashion glitter polish on the middle of the nail. Then I placed the rings and rhinestones on to the wet polish and pressed them down gently. I also added some F.U.N. Lacquer Winter Wonderland glitter topper (Can this please make comeback this Christmas? It's so awesome!) for extra sparkle. I topped everything with another generous coat of HK Girl top coat and I was done!

These rings looked pretty much as I thought they would when used on a manicure. I quite like the little extra something they bring on a regular rhinestone nail art. I'll definitely will be using these again on another manicure.



Tähän manikyyriin käytin:

Mavalan uuden Sublime syyskokoelman 315 Amethyst sävyllä lakkasin kaksi kerrosta etusormen ja pikkusormen kynsiin. Peukalon ja keskisormen kynsiin levitin yhden kerroksen Amethystiä ja kerroksen Lynnderella Jelly Egg lakkaa.

Nimettömän kynteen levitin ensin kaksi kerrosta Essie Fill the Gap aluslakkaa. Sen jälkeen lisäsin keskelle kynttä raidan OPI In True Stefani Fashion lakalla ja painoin sen pintaan kiinni renkaat ja koristekivet. Ympärille töpöttelin vielä hiukan F.U.N. Lacquer Winter Wonderland hopeaglitteriä. Lopuksi lisäsin kaikkiin kynsiin HK Girl pikakuivattajan.

Renkaat näyttivät kynsillä juuri niin kivoilta kuin olin ajatellutkin ja ne toivat kivan lisän normaaliin strassikoristeluun. Näitä tulee varmasti kokeiltua uudelleen. Ehkä seuraavaksi niittien kanssa.

Mavala - 310 Espresso with some nail art

This manicure is quick and simple but I really liked it.

The base color is Mavala Espresso from their Fall 2014 Sublime collection. Espresso has an excellent formula. It applies very smoothly and evenly and is opaque with two coats. Dry time was quick and it didn't stain my nails or cuticles when removed.

For this manicure I used a coat of Essie Fill The Gap and Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coats, two coats of Espresso and HK Girl top coat. Stamping was done with OPI Love.Music.Angel.Baby velvet matte polish and Born Pretty Store stamping plate (you can use the code NZL91 for -10% off).






Tänään vuorossa tälläinen helppo ja yksinkertainen manikyyri. Tykkäsin itse tästä oikein paljon. Herkullinen suklaanruskea sopi todella kauniisti kultaisten koristelujen kanssa. Värilakkana käytin Mavalan Sublime syyskokoelman 310 Espresso sävyä. Tämä oli laadultaan erinomainen. Levittyi hyvin ja tasaisesti, peitti kahdella kerroksella ja kuivui nopeasti. Poistaessa tämä ei värjännyt kynsiä tai kynsinauhoja. 

Nämä Mavalan uusien kokoelmien lakat ovat tasaisesti olleet erittäin hyvän tuntuisia. Levittyvät ja pysyvät hyvin ja ovat erittäin runsaspigmenttisiä.

Matching Nails & Makeup - Delush Polish Time To Kill

Today I'm trying something that is new to my blog. I take a polish/manicure and match my makeup with it to show you guys. Most of these looks are meant to be your average every day look. Something I can wear when I walk out the door to go shopping or just go to a grocery store. I like to play with colors too so there is going to be everything from nude makeup to a smokey eye. Needless to say, I have a lot of makeup and nail polish to match so I shouldn't run out of material anytime soon :D It's just a matter of having the time to do my makeup and take photos too. So when ever I have time to do this, you'll see the results.

So my choice for today's makeup look was based on Delush Polish Time To Kill from the Slice Of Life Collection. This is a stunning plum jelly that can be worn on it's own or over a base color. The formula is flawless. It applies nice and thin. Glitters spread evenly without having to place or dab them on. Dry time is also pretty fast. It's just perfect!

For this manicure I used a coat of Sally Hansen Nail Rehab treatment, a coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat, a coat of Essie Sugar Daddy, two coats of Time To Kill and HK Girl top coat. Tänään minulla on teille blogissani ennen näkemätön idea eli teen kynsilakkaan/manikyyriin sopivan meikkilookin. Näissä postauksissa tullaan tulevaisuudessa näkemään enimmäkseen ihan normaaliin arkeen sopivia meikkejä joissa voin lähteä shoppailemaan tai ihan vaikka ruokakauppaan. Sanomattakin on selvää, että lipastoista löytyy tarpeeksi kynsilakkoja ja meikkejä aika moneenkin postaukseen. On siis enemmänkin kyse siitä onko minulla aikaa tehdä meikki ja vielä kuvatakin se. Eli aina kun sopiva aika löytyy ja inspiraatio iskee niin näitä postauksia on luvassa.

Tähän ensimmäiseen postaukseen valitsin kynsilakaksi Delush Polish Time To Kill indieglitterin Slice Of Life kokoelmasta. Tämä on todella näyttävä luumu/violetti jelly kauniisti kimaltelevalla glitterillä. Tätä voit käyttää ihan yksin tai sopivan värisen lakan päällä. Lakka on todella laadukas ja levittyy hyvin. Glittereitä ei tarvitse onkia pullosta eikä asetella kynnelle. Tämä myös kuivui suhteellisen nopeasti. Todella upea lakka!

Gorgeous! Right?

So it was easy to create a makeup look for this manicure. I used purple, plum and gold eyeshadows this time but orange would also go great with this if you want a bolder, more colorful look that really makes blue eye color pop. For the eye makeup I used Sleek Make Up Vintage Romance palette. I really like this  palette. The colors are perfect for fall and it's also good quality for an affordable price. I really need to get more of these :)



Eikös ole ihana?

Tähän lakkaan oli helppo keksiä sopiva meikki. Tällä kertaa käytin violettia ja kultaa, mutta myös oranssi sopisi tähän hienosti ja sopisi upeasti sinisille silmille. Silmämeikkiin käytin Sleek Make Up Vintage Romance palettia joka on väreiltään aivan täydellinen syksyyn. Tämä on kaunis paletti, värit ovat enimmäkseen hyväpigmenttisiä ja hinta ei päätä huimaa. Pitäisi kyllä hankkia muutama Sleek paletti lisää. Näissä on niin kivan värikkäitä vaihtoehtoja.






For this look I used gold Meet in Madrid and the three purple shades from the left side of the bottom row. These look quite shiny on the lid so I tried not to blend the shadows too high up. I have a lot of area to cover on my lids and if I'm not careful the makeup can end up making me look like a clown.

I added false lashes cos the last pregnancy totally messed up my lashes and I have like half of them left and they are much shorter than usual. Hopefully they'll return to normal soon enough. Till then I'll be faking it ;)



Tähän meikkiin käytin kultaista Meet in Madrid sävyä sekä vasemman alarivin kolmea violettia. Nämä ovat aika kiiltäviä luomella, joten yritin olla häivyttämättä niitä liian ylös. Minulla on luomilla paljon tilaa ja meikin kanssa saakin olla varovainen ettei tule ihan pellelook kauniin meikin sijaan.

Lisäsin vielä kevyet tekoripset koska viimeinen raskaus tuhosi ripseni ja ne ovat nyt puolet ohuemmat ja lyhyemmät kuin yleensä. Niiden palautumista odotellessa huijaan itselleni näyttävämmät ripset  ;)








This look is pretty subtle and natural with a hint of color on the eyes. Good every day look that could  easily be turned into a darker nighttime look by adding dark eyeliner and creamy eyeshadow as a base to make the eyeshadows more visible.

I hope you liked this post and the idea of matching nails with makeup. I really enjoyed doing a makeup post. It's been so long since the last one. This was fun for me at least :D



Tämä on siis melko naturelli look jossa on kuitenkin vähän väriä luomilla. Sopiva ihan normaaliin arkipäivään. Tästä saa helposti muunnettua näyttävämmän iltalookin lisäämällä tumman eyelinerin ja käyttämällä vaikkapa voidemaista luomiväriä pohjalla, jotta luomivärit näkyvät paremmin.

Jindie Nails manicure

For this manicure I used two Jindie Nails polishes Phone, Keys, Polish, Check! and Frank's Ole Lady. Since they were both so gorgeous I couldn't decide which one to use first so I used both. I have a review and better swatch photos of Phone, Keys, Polish, Check! coming up later on :)

For this manicure I used Sally Hansen Nail Rehab treatment and Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat on all the nails. Phone, Keys, Polish, Check! on my index, middle and pinky nail. Then I used Frank's Ole Lady for thumb and ring finger nails. Stamping was done with Konad silver stamping polish and Konad M63 plate. I finished the manicure with HK Girl top coat.

If you want Frank's Ole Lady I suggest you act FAST. Right now, at this moment there's only 3 left on the store and it's not coming back!

Fall inspired manicure and great news for Glitter Gal fans!

Happy hump day! For me it's not so happy since I'm having my wisdom tooth pulled later today :/ But for the rest of you I have a pretty manicure to show (even if I say so myself) and news about Glitter Gal Australia flash sale :)

So let's start with the manicure. For this manicure I used:

Index and pinky: a coat of Sally Hansen Nail Rehab and two coats of OPI Jinx Liquid Sand.

Matching Nails & Makeup - Cadillacquer The Rest Is Silence

I recently placed my first Cadillacquer order and here's the first one of the two polishes I bought, The Rest Is Silence from the Sons of Anarchy Collection. I know I just did a "Matching Nails & Makeup" post but the opportunity to use turquoise on my makeup was too good to pass so here goes another makeup post :D

The Rest Is Silence is a GORGEOUS light turquoise polish with a subtle holo effect and pink shimmer. I can't even... this polish is so so stunning!

Formula was excellent. Two easy coats for an opaque result. Dry time was normal and removal was easy. No staining the nails and no chipping during the three days I wore this manicure. This Cadillacquer beauty lived up to it's good reputation and my first experience with this brand was a really positive one.

For this manicure I used a coat of Sally Hansen Nail Rehab and a coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu!, two coats of The Rest Is Silence and HK Girl top coat. For the ring finger nails I placed some studs (no longer available or at least I couldn't find a link for you. I bought those sometime last year), waterdrops and rhinestones. Tein vähän aikaa sitten ensimmäisenCadillacquer tilaukseni ja tänään esittelyssä toinen ostamistani lakoista eli The Rest Is Silence Sons of Anarchy kokoelmasta. Teen nyt näin pian toisen "Matching Nails & Makeup" -postauksen koska mahdollisuus käyttää herkullista turkoosia meikissä oli liian hyvä jätettäväksi käyttämättä.

Tämä on todella UPEA vaalea turkoosi lakka holo efektillä ja pinkillä shimmerillä. Siis niin hieno! Voin vaan kuvitella kuinka näyttävä tämä olisi kesäauringossa.

Koostumus oli todella hyvä. Kaksi helposti levittyvää kerrosta riitti peittämään ja kuivumisaika oli normaali. Kynnet eivät värjäytyneet ja lakka ei lohkeillut niiden kolmen päivän aikana kun lakkaus oli kynsilläni. Cadillacquer siis täytti odotukset ja oli  hyvän maineensa veroinen ainakin tämän lakan osalta.

Tähän manikyyriin käytin kerroksen Sally Hansen Nail Rehabia ja kerroksen Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! aluslakkaa, kaksi kerrosta The Rest Is Silencea ja HK Girl pikakuivattaja. Nimettömien kynsiin lisäsin niittejä (nämä olen ostanut viime vuoden puolella ja en löytänyt niitä enää kaupasta), waterdropseja ja strasseja. Kaikki koristeet ovat Born Pretty Storesta ja koodilla NZL91 saat -10% alennuksen tilauksestasi.

And then on to the makeup look. I didn't want to go all crazy with the turquoise so I decided to just use it on my lower lid and leave the upper lid neutral with big lashes.

For this look I used:

I really liked how this looked. Neutral enough for every day use but still had enough color to make it look fun and fresh :) This is a very quick and easy look to create and you can use pretty much any color on your lower lid as long as it looks good on you. 



Sitten meikkiin. En halunnut tehdä liian räikeää meikkiä, joten päädyin jättämään yläluomen neutraaliksi ja käyttämään turkoosia ainoastaan alaluomella. Yllä näkyy käyttämäni tuotteet. Tämä on siitä kiva meikkityyli, että alaluomelle voi laittaa lähes minkä tahansa itselleen sopivan värin ja vaihdella lookkia loputtomasti. Meikki on myös todella helppo ja nopea toteuttaa.

ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever and Watercolor nails with foil

Happy Sunday! I haven't used nail foils for a long time cos I've always felt like they are hard to use. They don't stick, they wrinkle, glue doesn't dry, glue dries too fast and so on. I got this bottle of ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever a while ago and I finally decided to be brave enough to try foil again. I used it on parts of the nails and I think it ended up looking great. So today I'm going to share my experience with ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever with you.

This glue is perfect for nail art using foil, pigments and loose glitter. It dries sticky and small amount is enough to make the foil, pigment or loose glitter stick to it.



Ihanaa sunnuntaita kaikille! Toivottavasti teillä on ollut kiva viikonloppu :) Tänään minulla on esittelyssä liima jonka sain jo jokin aikaa sitten. Nyt on taas kynsienkoristeluinto nostanut päätään ja ideoita on enemmän kuin omiksi tarpeiksi. En ole pitkään aikaan käyttänyt siirtofolioa kynsissä koska olen aina kokenut sen käytön kovin hankalana. Folio ei tartu kunnolla, liima ei kuivu, liima kuivuu liian nopeasti, folio rypistyy, jne. Päätin kuitenkin nyt rohkaistua ja kokeilla myös tätä koristelutyyliä. Näin ollen tulikin siis tartuttua myös tähän liimapulloon ja kokeiltua folioa kynsien koristelussa.

Kyseessä on siis ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever liima, jota saa suomessa ostaa ainoastaan CesarsShopista. Tämä on myrkytön askarteluliima joka sopii erinomaisesti käytettäväksi siirtofolion, pigmettien ja irtoglitterin kanssa kynsien koristelussa. 






I decided to do a watercolor style nails So first I applied my usual base coats Sally Hansen Nail Rehab and Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu!. Then I applied a coat of white creme, OPI Alpine Snow. One coat is enough and though the result might look a little uneven it doesn't matter since you'll be applying colors over it.  I let the white base dry for a bit and then applied OPI Sheer Tints (I didn't use the yellow one). I added a coat of HK Girl fast drying top coat and let the manicure fully dry.

After the manicure was completely dry I used a flat brush to apply a thin layer of glue to the parts of the nails where I wanted the foil to stick (I immediately cleaned the brush with a Cleaner that I use with gel nails). The thinner coat you can apply the better. You also have to let the glue dry really well in order for it to work. To speed up the drying process I used a hair dryer. Little bit of warm air made the glue dry in a matter of seconds really. I decided to use sheer Opal swirl foil. I gently pressed the foil on the dried glue and it attached perfectly. Then I sealed it in with a top coat and I was done. Very quick and easy.



Koska myös OPI Sheer Tintsit lojuivat vielä kokeilemattomina päätin tehdä vesivärikynnet. Ensin levitin kynsille normaalit aluslakat eli Sally Hansenin Nail Rehab ja Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! siis pohjalle. Sitten levitin kerroksen OPI Alpine Snow valkoista cremeä. Yksi kerros riitti vaikka se jäikin hitusen epätasaisen näköiseksi niin sillä ei ollut väliä koska päälle tuli vielä Sheer Tintsit ja folio. Annoin valkoisen lakan kuivua hetken aikaa ja levitin päälle Sheer Tints lakkoja (en käyttänyt keltaista ollenkaan). Lopuksi laitoin HK Girl pikakuivattajaa ja annoin lakkauksen kuivua täysin.

Kynsien kuivuttua levitin ScraPerfect liimaa erittäin ohuesti litteällä, tasapäisellä siveltimellä niihin kohtiin kynsiä joihin halusin folion kiinnittää. Puhdistin siveltimen välittömästi rakennekynsienkin teossa käytettävällä cleanerilla, mutta tämä irtoaa myös vedellä ja saippualla kunhan se ei ehdi kuivumaan ennen puhdistusta. Liimaa tarvitaan vain erittäin ohut kerros, joten levityksessä kannattaa olla tarkkana. Liiman pitää myös olla hyvin kuivunut, jotta folio tarttuu siihen kunnolla. Itse lyhensin kuivumisaikaa hiustenkuivaajan avulla ja liima kuivuikin sekunneissa. Tämä kuivuu tahmeaksi, joten liian pitkästä kuivumisajasta ei ole pelkoa. Tällä kertaa käytin Mosaic Opal Swirl folioa ja painoin sen kunnolla kiinni kynnen pintaan. Folio tarttui liimaan helposti ilman mitään ongelmia. Lopuksi levitin kynsille vielä päällyslakkaa. Todella helppo ja nopea koristelu!








This glue was so easy to use it got me excited about using foils more now. I also want to try it with pigments and loose glitter. I have used loose glitters by applying the glitter on wet polish but that method isn't precise enough. With the glue you can just dip your nail into the glitter and brush off the excess. It'll only stick to where you have applied the glue instead of messing up the whole nail.

You just have to remember that with this glue less is more. If you apply too much glue it might start moving even under the top coat since this dries sticky. Too much glue is also going to make the surface of the manicure look bumpy. So apply it very thinly and you're all good.

For these nails I used HK Girl fast drying top coat but as some of you might know fast drying top coats can make the foils look wrinkled. With this opal look it doesn't really matter but with more opaque foils it's going to be obvious. I tested Glitter Gal Gloss Boss top coat on a plastic nail tip with foil and it seemed to cause very little damage to the foil so I'm definitely going to test that on my nails next time.



ScraPerfect oli niin helppokäyttöinen ja toimiva, että nyt tekee mieli jatkossakin käyttää eri foliokoristeluja kynsien teossa. Aion ehdottomasti käyttää tätä myös pigmenttien ja irtoglitterien kanssa. Aiemmin olen käyttänyt glittereitä levittämällä niitä märän kynsilakan päälle, mutta ne leviävät helposti koko kynnelle ja tarkka levitys on lähes mahdotonta. Liiman sen sijaan voi helposti levittää juuri siihen kohtaan kynttä kuin haluaa ja glitter tarttuu kiinni ainoastaan siihen. Loput kynnelle levinneet hippuset on helppo pyyhiä pois kun ei tarvitse pelätä märän kynsilakan ruttaantumista.

Tämän liiman kanssa kannattaa muistaa se, että enemmän on vähemmän. Levitä liimaa siis mahdollisimman ohuesti. Jos liimaa on kynnellä liian paksusti voi tahmeaksi jäävä kerros lähteä liukumaan myös päällyslakankin alla. Liian paksu liimakerros saa myös kynnen pinnan näyttämään epätasaiselta.

Näihin kynsiin käytin HK Girl pikakuivattajaa. Pikakuivattava päällyslakka saa kuitenkin folion helposti rypistymään ja näyttämään rumalta. Tämän läpikuultavan folion kohdalla se ei haitannut, mutta esim. metallivärinen folio ei enää rypistyessään näytä kivalta. Testasin kynsitikuille eri päällyslakkoja ja ainakin siinä testissä Glitter Gal Gloss Boss top coat ruttasi folioa vähiten. Seuraavaksi laitankin tuon testiin ihan kynsillä ja katsotaan kuinka käy.

Born Pretty Store stamping plate 02 review - Lace nails

I recently received 10 new stamping plates from Born Pretty Store and instead of showing all of them at the same time I'm going to do a design with each of them and show them one or two at a time.

I've been wanting to do lace style nails for a long time now and stamping plate 02 had perfect patterns for that. It looks like stamping plate 02 design has changed a bit since they sent mine to me and the exact pattern I used is no longer on the new plate. On the new design there's still very pretty lace patterns and the new ones are actually big enough to cover your whole nail. On this older plate the pattern I used was a tiny bit too narrow to cover my whole nail so I ended up using it only on the tips and the sides of the ring finger nail.

This plate worked great for me. I'm really a beginner when it comes to stamping nail art and I've only done stamping a few times. I had no trouble at all with this plate. The pattern transferred perfectly to the stamper and on to the nails.


Sain vähän aikaa sitten Born Pretty Storesta kymmenen uutta leimauslaattaa kokeiltaviksi. Sen sijaan, että esittelisin kaikki yhdellä kertaa päätin tehdä kaikilla niillä oman koristelunsa ja näytän ne yksi tai kaksi laattaa kerrallaan. Miten niin on leimauskärpänen päässyt puraisemaan? ;)

Olen jo pitkään halunnut tehdä pitsikynnet ja saamassani laatassa numero 02olikin tähän täydellisesti sopivia kuvia. Laatan 02 design näyttää muuttuneen sen jälkeen, kun laatat on lähetetty minulle ja täysin samaa kuvaa jota käytin ei enää ole uudessa laatassa. Uuden laatan kuviot ovat kuitenkin kuvan perusteella myös erittäin kauniita ja ne ovat nyt myös tarpeeksi suuria peittämään koko kynnen. Nyt käyttämäni kuva oli hieman liian kapea peittämään koko kynteni, joten päädyin käyttämään sitä vain kynsien kärjissä ja nimettömän kynnen sivuilla.

Laatta toimi mielestäni erittäin hyvin. Kuvio oli terävä ja nousi hyvin leimasimeen ja siirtyi moitteetta kynnelle. Eli edes tälläisellä leimaus newbiella ei ollut ongelmia tämän kanssa.





I started by doing a nude base using a coat of Sally Hansen Nail Rehab nail treatment, a coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! base coat and a coat of Essie Sugar Daddy. I also added OPI In True Stefani Fashion to the areas where I was going to stamp so that the beautiful holo glitter pieces would sparkle through the lace pattern. I finished with HK Girl top coat and let the manicure dry.

After the mani was dry I applied IsaDora Peel Off Basecoat on my cuticles to protect them from the black stamping polish. I cut pieces of blue masking tape and placed those on to my nails to cover the areas where I didn't want to stamp. I didn't want all the tips to look exactly the same so I tried to place the tape pieces a little differently on each nail. After all this was done I took my XL squishy stamper and black Konad stamping polish and stamped the patterns. Then I immediately removed the tapes and peel of base coat and cleaned up the little bit of black polish that got on to my skin.

Next I took a fine nail art brush and black acrylic paint. I drew a thin line next to the pattern and filled out the tiny little gaps here and there that I missed with my stamper (cos I'm simply not good enough at this yet :D ). I added the details on the ring finger between the stamping and let everything dry well again. After a while I added HK Girl top coat and rhinestones (also from Born Pretty Store) and I was done.


Aloitin lakkaamalla nuden pohjan johon käytin kerroksen Sally Hansen Nail Rehab hoitolakkaa, Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! aluslakkaa ja Essien Sugar Daddya. Lisäsin vielä OPI In True Stefani Fashion lakkaa niihin kohtiin joihin halusin leimata, jotta kauniit hologlitterhippuset kimaltelisivat pitsikuvion väleistä. Lopuksi levitin kerroksen HK Girl pikakuivattajaa ja annoin lakkauksen kuivua.

Jatkoin levittämällä ensin IsaDoran Peel Off aluslakkaa suojaamaan kynsinauhoja mustalta lakalta. Sitten leikkasin sinisestä maalarinteipistä sopivia paloja ja asetin ne kynsille peittämään ne kohdat joihin en halunnut leiman tarttuvan. Yritin asetella jokaisen teipinpalan hieman eri tavalla etteivät kärjet näyttäisi kaikki samalta. Leimasin kuviot kynsille käyttämällä löllöä XL Stamperia ja mustaa Konad leimauslakkaa. Poistin teipit ja peel offin välittömästi ja puhdistin turvatoimenpiteistä huolimatta iholle osuneet leimauslakat. 

Seuraavaksi piirsin nail art sivellintä ja mustaa akryylimaalia käyttäen ohuet viivat leimauskuvioiden sivuille sekä nyörikuvion nimettömän kynteen. Paikkailin akryylimaalilla myös huolimattomasta leimauksesta johtuvia pieniä kaljuja kohtia kynsien kärjissä. Annoin koristelujen kuivua hetken aikaa ja lisäsin vielä kerroksen HK Girl pikakuivattajaa ja strassit (myös Born Pretty Storesta).







I absolutely love how these turned out. I'll definitely be doing similar nails again and maybe a matching makeup look :)

Glitter Gal holo manicure

I decided to do a manicure using two beautiful Glitter Gal Australia holo polishes Love Bite and Blush. I also wanted to use my NailVinyls since it's been a long time I did anything with those either. I chose the star shape pattern vinyls from my untrieds pile and used those on my thumb and ring finger nails.

For this manicure I used a coat of Sally Hansen Nail Rehab, a coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu!, two coats of Love Bite on my index and pinky nails and two coats of Blush on my thumb, middle and ring finger nails. I also used HK Girl top coat as usual.

Looking at the photos now I think this look could've used some silver glitter with the stars. Oh well, polishes are stunning anyways :) Love Bite is just a perfect red holo for the Holiday season! I'll definitely use that again soon.

Sparkling nude-ish nails - Mavala 311 Beige Ivory and 138 Magic Spice

Today's manicure is perfect for someone who maybe wants a little something sparkling for the Holiday season parties but doesn't really like classic red nails and would never wear green or any other standout color. You just want your nails to be chic-ish and neutral. Well this is a manicure for you :)

For this mani I used:

A coat of Sally Hansen Nail Rehab (This still works wonders for me and has become my go-to nail treatment).

A coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! (Creates a perfect sticky base and prevents staining. Also works great for me!).

Two coats of Mavala 311 Ivory Beige from the Fall 2014 Sublime collection. Very nice formula. A bit on the thin side but applied very smooth and evenly. This was opaque with two coats. Very beautiful neutral color on it's own and a perfect base for some nail art. Will definitely use this one again too.

Mavala 138 Magic Spice from the Holiday 2014 Magic Stardust collection is dabbed on the side of the nails. A very beautiful glitter that also goes perfectly with the 310 Espresso from the Sublime collection.

Finished with a generous coat of HK Girl top coat (Still the best fast drying top coat I've ever tried).









Tänään vuorossa lakkaus joka on täydellinen jos haluat hiukan säihkettä juhlakauden kynsiin, mutta kirkas punainen, vihreä tai muut todella näyttävät värit eivät ole sinun juttusi. Jos haluat kynsiesi olevan naiselliset, mutta neutraalihkot niin tämä voisi olla sopiva look sinulle :)

Tähän lakkaukseen käytin:

Yksi kerros Sally Hansen Nail Rehabia (Tämä toimii kynsilläni edelleen moitteettomasti ja tästä onkin tullut suosikki hoitolakkani).

Yksi kerros Glisten & Glow Stuck On Blu! aluslakkaa (Tämä jättää tahmeahkon pohjan johon kynsilakka tarttuu hyvin ja tasaisesti. Tämä on myös tehokkaasti suojannut kynsiäni värjääntymisiltä).

Kaksi kerrosta Mavala 311 Ivory Beige lakkaa syksyn 2014 Sublime kokoelmasta. Tässä oli oikein kiva koostumus. Ohuehko lakka joka levittyi erittäin pehmeästi ja tasaisesti ja peitti kahdella kerroksella. Yksinään kaunis, neutraali nude josta saa myös täydellisen pohjavärin eri koristeluille. Tätä tulee käytettyä uudelleenkin.

Mavala 138 Magic Spice glitterlakkaa juhlakauden 2014 Magic Stardust kokoelmasta on töpötelty lakan omalla siveltimellä kynsien reunoille. Todella kauniisti kimalteleva glitter joka sopii täydellisesti myös Sublime kokoelman 310 Espresso lakan kanssa.

Lopuksi reilu kerros HK Girl pikakuivattajaa (Tämä on edelleen paras kokeilemani pikakuivattava päällyslakka).


Mavalan uusien kokoelmien lakat ovat olleet yksi kerrallaan positiivisia kokemuksia. Cremet ovat peittäviä ja toimivia ja uuden glitterkokoelman väriyhdistelmät ovat oikein herkullisia ja kauniin kimaltavia. Tästä eteenpäin tulee kyllä itsekin tarkasteltua lähemmin uusia Mavala kokoelmia.
